WOW! You hit the jackpot there! I'm gonna link this to the other big long-running thread we have about old gas stations (second thought--we ought to hold off so that it doesn't steel your thunder). THANKS for sharing. Those are unbelievable!

Okay, at the risk of looking like an idiot, I've gotta ask. HOW and WHY the hell did they get those cars on those platforms in this picture? Was it some sort of big gigantic elevator-type thing?

as i remember, we had a parking garage in syracuse that used that same idea. you drove yer car into a single slot that every car used and it picked yer car up and deposited it into an open slot. it seems quite effecient to me...and space saving also. i don't remember how they "rolled" yer car into and out of that space though....hmmmm...am i just dreaming??? cud be...but i don't think so

q in 'cuse

The B17 bomber gas station is in the N W - Washington I think- but the gas station is closed the dinner next store owns it and uses it as an attraction for the dinner. The gas station is a store for souvenirs

It must have been, I'd like to see more shots of it. It reminds me of a building they put up in Berkeley when I was delivering for UPS. They built an underground garage with an elevator to move cars to lower levels.
