whacky liftgate

ok the power lift gate on my 08 Expedition started to do this crazy thing...
when you press the button to close the gate it closes almost all the way and ready to latch then it opens back up again.

Then it finally stopped working completely. Fuses all check fine. I pulled the motor and bench tested it and it worked fine.

Re-installed motor and same thing...it wont close.

Any thought??

My 08 started doing this today. Only difference I noticed was squeaking sound as it closed earlier in the day. Then when I got home it started doing the almost closing then opening back up. Only way I got it to close was stop it as reopened it would slam shut.

Motor will test fine on a bench because there's no resistance.

That being said 90% of the issues found with these are the motors. They reverse based on resistance and loading.
