Newspaper article

My mother in Chicago area told me about this article. She said "It's just like yours", LOL. Good story, and a great looking truck, I don't think I've seen this color before:

I am surprised that in this day and time that the herald would even print a human interest story much less a story about about an old truck. Good read though.

I agree. I honestly don't think the little newspaper in my small town would publish a story like that nowadays. A nice surprise to see an article about something "normal".

We had those clear seat covers in one of our cars when I was a kid. Can't remember which one but I think it was our '60 Impala.

Nice article. There is a lot about that truck that I really like. Stance, tire and wheel size, steel wheels, caps and rings, clean plain interior. I tried to copy the photos for my reference collection but they are somehow protected. Maybe if this owner is a FTE visitor he will chime in. I'd like to ask some questions. Thanks for posting this Ross.

Cool - My Dad had a 3/4 flatbed, 6cyl same color, I've wondered what it was called. I don't know what the rear gear was but you could drive it as a 1 speed all day without a load

I knew that truck when it was here in UT!

It is a pretty nice truck. Has a cool amount of patina - not to be confused with rot.

I will try to get some more pictures up later.

Yes, indeed, a nice truck and a nice human interest story. But I think the owner (or the writer) is mistaken. There was no Mountain Green color in 55. Without checking any sources, I think there was a Mountain Mist color. Perhaps that what he or the writer means.

Must be nice to live in the "non-rust belt" like this truck did. I wonder how many other trucks like this are out there?

In Chicago?! not likely. Tho to be fair this is the suburban edition.

The Herald actually does pieces like this pretty regularly, has lots of real journalism. I've been tempted to subscribe to it. There are more articles in the daily edition than in the Albuquerque Urinal (Journal) Sunday Edition.

FYI - this newspaper chain was a client and one of the most profitable newspaper groups in the USA. They have a number of local papers all over and each one has a local/general interest section they always put things like this in. This is probably the reason they are so profitable.

I don't know what it eventually sold for, but they were asking pretty decent coin for it.

Not saying Josh is cheap, but it was a lot more than I thought it was worth.
