Rear Extended Cab Door

For some reason my rear door will not open now. Is there a way to pry open or removed the door panel with it closed to see what's going on?

Thanks

When you pull the door handle does either of the latches open? If the bottom latch will release and the top wont, you can unscrew the locker bar on the top and then open the door. The problem is likely a release cable within the door panel at the handle is broken. When this happen to mine I fixed it with a zip tie and its held for a couple of years now. Good luck hope this helps.

I open the passenger door pull the handle for the rear, and nothing. When I found out it was like it was this morning, pulled the handle and it unlatched just enough to get to the not fully closed stage. So I pushed on it to get it to shut because I had things to do,. Now when I pull it, nothing releases.

And I figure something just came apart or broke inside, just looking for a way to open it so I can take it all apart to find it.

You may be able to pull the door panel out with door shut. But it will be a pita. I looked at my truck and there is not a way to pry the lower locking assemble with out doing some damage. Iirc when this happen to my truck it also felt like the door was not releasing but if I pulled the handle and then pulled on the bottom of the door it would give a small amount. The bolts for the top striker pin are under the small trim panel on the roof between the door and seatbelt assembly. Again best of luck.

Thank you medic. Went and pulled the bottom like you said and that was it. Unbolted the top and it's open. Getting a little to dark to be able to see everything inside, so I'll find and tackle the broken pieces tomm.

Here's some info on removing rear door panels on a SuperCab.

Checked this out today, and looks like I'm going to have to hit the dealership for a part. Going to the top part is a cable assembly that attaches to the top, and when the handle is pulled it pulls the cable on the inside to release it. Where it connects is a plastic piece that keeps the outside tight so the cable on the inside can pull. Well the plastic piece is broke, and there's no way to zip tie, or glue this piece. Thanks for the help guys, now tomm I have to call a dealer to see if I can get it separate or if this is an whole assembly.

That was what broke on mine iirc however I was able to use some zip ties to make it work. Please update after talking to the dealership.
