My 01 250 diesel won't run faster than idle . It smokes and seems to be loading up fuel but won't run. It's got 274k miles but been well maintained. I changed the fuel filter but no change. Gonna have to tow it if I can't fix at home . Help

Ok. It's making white smoke , seems like its loading up on fuel. Check eng lite has been on. It seemed to lose power last time I drove it. I put fuel in and by the time I got home it would barley pull. Now it won't make it around the block. Dam ford. It doesn't have a heated tailgate so my hands get cold whenever I push it!

 

Is the truck stock, do you have anything to pull the codes with?

 

You said you had just put fuel in, do you think you got some bad fuel?

 

i think you should ask this down in the 7.3 fourm... man i know had this few years ago ended up new injecters...4000$ bad fuel

 

First step is to pull codes and go from there.
