Replacing high pressure hose PS on 92 5.0--anything special to know?
I am placing the high pressure power steering hose on my 1992 5.0 F150 with manual tranny . The hose has the idle up sensor. I found new-old stock hose that has the sensor already screwed onto the hose. I am working outside in single degree temperature at times. I seem to remember something about O rings and having to heat them up in hot water to apply them. I am surprised that the O rings didn't come with the hose assembly. I am going to contact the local Ford house for the O rings.
Anything to watch out for or any tricks to make this job a leak free replacement? I tried the search feature-and didn't readily find anything.

i just did that with my truck. replaced pump, hoses, steering box. the reman pump came with a teflon o-ring that i had to warm up a bit in some hot water. what you don't want to do is stretch it too much cause it won't retract or even worse, break. so instead of stretching over the threads, i threaded the warmed ring onto the fitting and spun it on no problem, no leaks.
good luck working in single digit temps. makes me appreciate living in sunny cali.
