A local craigslist seller has a set of lariat rims off of a 2004 F250. Will these fit on my 2008? I know the bolt pattern is the same but don't know about the offset.

I'm told that the 16's won't clear the brake calipers without wheel spacers. The main reason Ford went to 17's in 2005.

 

So going the other way would be a-okay then, right?

(17s from 2005+ onto pre-2005)

 

Yes, they will bolt on but wheel offset could be a problem. It's possible the wheel would stick farther out and flares required to cover tire.

 

16" wheels will not fit on anything newer than 2004 due to larger brakes on 05+.

2005+ wheels will bolt up to 1999-2004, but the backspacing will have it hitting your leafs with barely any turning, so it will require spacers, which are $640 for 4

Regardless of changing wheels to other 17" , 18" or 20", don't forget the 2008 has TPMS or you'll have a new set of problems
