Well being a Cowboys fan, I dig the color combo. Cowboys comment aside, your paint fits your truck well nice job, looking forward to future pictures.

Very nice! Looks great!

I've got the 7.3 idi in my 79 F250 4x4. I wanted the 4 speed overdrive, so the wiring is taking a little longer. I'm looking forward to putting some miles on mine! Good job!

Oh and by the way, your videos of your truck have kept me sane during my build! Thanks for that!

I didn't even think of that! I'm not really a fan in particular, but it's funny because when I got the truck, it had these "cowboy up" stickers on the lower corners of the windshield... I left them because I thought they were funny, so they're still there. Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words and I'll definitely update the pictures as I finish up.

Thanks man! Yeah, I've seen your build thread before, I like it. You've pretty much got the same engine as I do, since mine is a late 86 it has the 7.3 style glow plugs and rockers. They're solid engines and I love having one in my 79. I definitely wish I had overdrive though, too bad ZF5's are so darn expensive. I've driven mine probably 3,000 miles at this point and I still can't help but smile driving it. Thanks again!

No problem, if you click my name on youtube, there's a few other videos of it. The first one is of when I was running it from a 5 gallon diesel can Good luck with the rest of your build man!

I had Performance Inc. Put my engine as low in the frame as they could. This helped me not use a body lift. I will most likely go to the hydraboost system soon to gain more clearance for the valve cover on the driver side. But first I will put new cab body bushings. This might gain me the clearance Im looking for.

Wether you guys need the clearance or not DO the Hydroboost setup, without a doubt the best thing I've done to my truck.

This is what I have heard. I will do it, just in what order I plan it is the question. I am looking forward to this.

Yeah, I really wish I didn't need my body lift. I'm going to hydroboost my truck as soon as I get the time and money, so I can take the body lift off. It's fine and all, but I just personally don't like the look of a body lift.

I will definitely do it eventually, and I can't wait to feel the difference.

Thank you! I was torn between the silver and a darker gray metallic, and I'm very happy I went with this.

Some more pictures, got the grille shell and lights/mirrors on. Next up is suspension paint, rear wheel bearing, door handles, and 3g alternator. Still have to paint the tailgate and roll pan as well.

Not much to update on the truck, but I got new tires awhile back and found a set of American Eagle aluminum wheels I liked about a month ago for a really good price so I picked those up since the steel wheels I had were kind of beat up. I also finished the door handles, rear wheel bearing, 3G alternator swap, painted the suspension and rolled bedliner in the bed awhile ago.

Other than that, it's just been driven a lot. We are going to redo the silver portion this summer, because I decided it didn't turn out quite right in a couple spots. I'm going to repaint the driveshafts, apparently the guy who shortened my rear driveshaft didn't really prep it before he painted it. Also on the to do list still is repair/replace the seat, swap the accelerator pedal with the one I have from the diesel, put on the new grille shell that I have and wire up the headlight relay harness I got.

New wheels mounted up:

Thanks, I wasn't sure about the look til I got them on. Also on the to do list is to polish and install the aluminum trim, but that will be awhile still.

No sense dealing with any trim till after you repaint whatever imperfection you're displeased with.

I think it looks good without the trim.

Truck looks great with the new wheels...in fact looks like a whole new truck IMO.

what kind of fuel mileage have you been seeing since you have been driving it alot?

let me preface this with true mileage - factoring in speedo error
