Transmission fluid (auto) should be changed every 30K, not sure about the transfer case as I haven't had a 4X4 in years. I'm sure the experts will let you know soon with the T-case.

To lv2race's comment, Ford recommends tranny fluid changes every 30-35k, however, most don't do it nearly often enough.
Use Mercon type ATF only and change the internal filter at the same time. You either have a long stem or short stem type filter and be sure to get the correct one.
Keep in mind that just emptying the filter and pan will not replace the converter fluid but regular changes will circulate the new fluid.
You can go to these quick change fluid stations and they will circulate in new fluid through the cooler lines, as it pushes out the old, hence replacing the convertor fluid too.
No better way to ensure long life with your tranny as fluid changes. If towing, be sure to follow Mfg recommendations as heat is the biggest enemy to ATF breakdown.

Your transfer case is much like your differential, no need for more than 75k between changes at best.

I think some of the new 6 speed Expedition trannys are 100k intervals. Not sure what year that started, maybe '06? If you use the search thread, there are a number of threads that post how to do a complete fluid transfer to get a complete change as you would get at a dealer or lube shop. It involves using the vehicle to pump fresh fluid into the system and waiting for the new clean fluid to come out of the return line.
