2013 Knee-deep BS thread!

I'm up getting ready for work. My son and the family are coming over from Portland today, bringing my 76 F250 and the race trailer home. Hope he gets on his way before the rain starts.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
Have a broken sewer line to look forward to today. I can hardly wait to get to work on it!

This is western Oregon so anything less than 36" has to have a flotation collar or life jacket. This pipe is at 40" to avoid those regulations!

Just got a call from my oldest sons wife. Apparently he was rear ended in the Beaverton area. Sounds like the car may be totaled. His F-I-L went to get him in the tow truck. Sounds like he needs to go to the hospital, but is too stubborn. His wife says that he will go to the hospital the second she gets her hands on him. He already has a messed up spinal column. He has just settled into his new career after a couple of years of rehabilitation and retraining.

Morning guys. Haven't been around much the last couple days. Been over in Walla Walla visiting a good friend (for 30+ years...). He is dieing........His kidneys have failed, and the Dr's told me he most likely will be gone in another week.
I'm sooo tired of my friends dieing around me, and most are younger than me............

Morning Tiny. I'm sooo tired of all my YOUNGER buddies dieing around me. My buddy Pat went in to have his bladder and prostate removed last Tue. He has a stage 4 fast acting cancer that will most likely kill him in a couple months, and now my buddy Steve is dieing. It's just so depressing....

Yeah Don I understand. Cancer sucks! I've got a buddy that owned a local motorcycle shop, in his late 30's early 40's, found out he had pancreatic cancer. He is in excellent health, fit and very active. Went through chemo and radiation, the only good part of that whole deal was he already had a shaved head so no hair to fall out. The treatments shrank the cancer significantly and things were looking good. Ultimately, the cancer would get him but he most likely had years of active life ahead of him. Three weeks ago he found out he had advanced, aggressive liver cancer. The doctors gave him 3 weeks to 6 months to live.
He's gone home to the Seattle area to be with his family. Spent some time in Hawaii and is enjoying what's left of his life.
Hang in there. Stuff happens all around us all of the time. It's got to fit together somehow.

People ask me all the time why I take on so many projects and work so hard if I'm retired. Well, when I see younger friends dieing around me I just have to work hard. I have things I want to get done before I assume room temp. Outliving all my friends sucks...........
