Truck just stopped running then will not start

Going down the road the 2003 F250 Super Duty just shut off then would turn over but not start. The next morning it started after it was primed several times. It ran rough no power and shut off. I was told it was the high pressure oil pump? What ya think? If so where can I find such a pump at a reasionable price. Thanks

you have to cross a line here

Throw Parts and prey

or

Get a Gauge and make a Informed desision

Yep. Assuming that it is a high pressure oil problem, it could be the pump or any of a few things in the system that may be leaking. Some relatively simple diagnostic testing can save you a lot of money.

It could as easily be a FICM problem as HPOP problem. You need to code scan the truck and as previoiusly stated, get some gauges and make an informed decision.

If its your HPOP and your truck shuts off like that while running and wont start back up, im guessing the oil pressure gauge needle on the dash wouldnt move too much. FICMs a good idea too, you can check it under the hood easily to see if shes readin 48. Do you have any gauge system setup?

Used a meter

We used a meter but it did not show any codes. Checked the oil had plenty but if it woud start after a number of primes it only ideled, no power then it shut off again.

Any other ideas I have itin the shopnow so I will See. If you were to rebuildit, due to the cost of a new truck what all would you do?

Thanks
