1991 F350 2wd to 4wd straight axle conversion

Hi everyone I bought at an estate auction a 1991 F350 crew cab XLT with 64k miles no rust, great body and interior and new tires, has a 460 v8 w/auto tranny. I bought the truck in March 2012 for $2,500 I was at the auction to by other items and then the truck hit the block and I was the second bid and the last. I thought that was pretty cheap for a truck in this condition and that was it I bought the truck. I am a farmer and desire this nice truck to be 4wd with a straight axle but have no idea where to start. Can someone please offer any advice for my potential project? I am mechanically inclined and feel I could do this project with some pointers.

You need a donor truck

You will need the following

D60 front axle from a 85.5-97(axle, track bar, track bar mount, drivers side u-bolt plate, steering linkage)
F350 leaf springs from a big block or diesel
4wd auto trans from a 460
transfercase
rear driveshaft and front driveshaft
Spring hangers for the FRONT leaf springs(the rear ones that will go under the front cab mount)

Front ones that will also get bolted in on the inside of the frame. 3 bolts we replace 3 rivets that hold the rad support bracket on and you will have to drill 3 more holes(srping hanger is held on w 6 bolts) You will also have to notch the bottom of the frame for the shackle to go in.

OR for the front hanger you can box the frame and use a SKY Manufacturing RSK for the front hanger

You can PM Brown Falcon. he did almost the identical swap https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/member.php?u=474911
