For all FTEs in the Phoenix area....

Hi guys.

A buddy is taking a trip on business to Phoenix. We are both restoring old Fords: his is a '66 F-100 stepside, mine a '72 F-250. He's hoping to make a run through some of your primo junkyards for the misc. stuff we need. Any suggestions as to the best places for old Ford trucks? I hate to ask but most of the stuff in our yards here in the Houston area turned to dust years ago.

Thanks,

Fast Texan

Is there anything in particular you are looking for? I am located in Tucson, which is about 1.5 hours south of Phoenix. I will be going down to the junkyards this weekend so I would be happy to take a look around for what you need. If I were to find it, I could let you know and he could maybe make a trip down here if necessary.
In any case, when I went up to Phoenix to browse the yards, I was rather pleased with Pull-A-Part, as recommended by another FTE user. I would tell you where it is located, but it seems as though all of my private messages are gone, along with the PM system. *shrug*

Anyway, either post here or email me ( theimpaler@comcast.net ) if you would like me to investigate for you.

Thanks, I'll pass that info along. We're not looking for any one or two things in particular at this stage but rather anything that looks like it might come in handy.

My bud's needs are quite a bit more extensive than my own because, in the course of pulling his truck apart for a frame-off, he found a lot of heavy rust in some of the support members. So, he might even be looking for a truck to canabilize. His '66 is a step-side short bed so it's well worth the effort; the body is in great shape. As usual, he thought his frame-off was going to be a slam dunk but the project scope expanded quickly.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.

I may of found your post too late but I checked the yellow pages for Phoenix and there's a Pick-A-Part in Tempe @ 480-968-1111 advertising 60's thru 90's and U-Pull-it @602-243-3933..... It may save you some miles with a phone call......... Good hunting........
