carburetor

Has anyone used the product called Seafoam to clean their carburetors? I wondered if it was worth purchasing.

in my opinion there is 1 way to clean a carburetor, and that is a teardown, however, if you have a little moisture in the bowl, it will help it to pass through.

The Seafoam is better for top end cleaning, half a can through a vacum line, following the instructions, and watch the smoke show... Put the rest in the tank. It does nothing really to clean the carb except the fuel track from the tank.

Dirt and gummy residue is one problem with a carb, but the other problems are the rubber parts getting old and losing their flexibility. Seafoam won't fix the rubber parts that are bad.
