Kind of a stumper. Maybe the output shaft on the new transmission sits back a little further. I know you need the drive shaft farther ahead, but how are you judging that 3/4 inch?

the 3/4 inch is from the end of the rear seal where it sat on the yoke before, also need that same 3/4 inch to get the hangar bolts in on the driveshaft. im measured using a probe device the amount of clearing on the inside of the estension housing before it hits something and the distance on the inside of the yoke should fit.. i dont have a clue.. cant beleive i gatta send a truck in to the tranny shop to put a driveshaft back in..

All I can think of is that the shaft in your replacement transmission, that your driveshaft slips on, comes back further. I suppose you already took your old transmission back, so you can't compare?

ok so this is where i sit at atm. my old splines on the shaft are fine, test spline i used if fine though it showed same symptoms, transmission is fine. problem is not in shaft or transmission. as far as we all can tell the motor is for somereason too far back. and here by lies the issues. my next thing i gatta do is move my engine foward an in inside the bay. my thought process on this is going to be hook up tranny to engine and fit into place.. then i will loosen off the mounts and shift it all foward till it is in place, then start tightening the bolts down from the back to the front. starting with the transmission mount should beable to hold the whole assembly foward enough to complete this process.. there by solving my issue. i hope.. will update.
