Hello all!
I have just ordered an upgrade kit from jegs.
Offenhauser 6019-DPK Offenhauser Dual Port 6-Cylinder Manifold

Has anybody done this and needed to go searching for misc. parts to complete?
Throttle linkage, brackets ECT...?

Thanks in advance!!!!

You might have better results posting this in the 6 cyl engine forum here on FTE.
For a sub-forum the 6 cylinder guys are pretty active.
BTW welcome to FTE, lot's of good people here.

The moderators can move it, but I'd leave it and start another post in the 6 cyl forum.
Someone here might have some good advice too.

Cool! it IS a merry dentside christmas!

I think it would be interesting to let us know how the upgrades improves performance...... 0 to 60 as-equipped and then 0-60 after the parts are installed. C'mon... turn us on. Thanks in advance!!

I did it a while back on an 83 f150 and it made a huge difference in performance. It only took an afternoon to do except finishing the exhaust. The only part I needed was new throttle linkage which didnt take long to fab.

I bought a 79, long ago with this setup. I remember that the manifold cracked on the top bolts due to the weight of the carb and the absence of an exhaust manifold. We tig'ed her back together and made a cute little crutch off of a header tube. I also remember my friends laughing at my exhaust note.

I would love to provide that, but i cannot keep it running at this point.
I just bought the truck a few weeks ago for $700 from a friend. It is all stock except for he said it had a aftermarket cam in it. He didnt know what kind. Said his dad rebuilt engine 8,000 miles ago and put it in then. I drove it home it was running pretty good, Pleanty of power but had idleing problems. I messed with the little carb and now it will run only if i hold down on the gas. And the exhaust manifold is cracked.

I will defintely let you know how it runs after im done!

Im going to post pics of before and after as soon as my parts come in! I cannot wait. My son is excited as well...

Picture being stuck in snow, with buddies trying to push, attempting to rock the truck with the throttle and then buddies disappear in the mirrors cause they are on their knees laughing hysterically ... dual 2" with packs, I don't recommend it .

Yeah, they compared it to farting in a bathtub . I would put some decent chamber muffs on her for decent flow . maybe bump the pipes up to 2 1/4. That would help with the cackle. I was just a punk kid and wanted a v8 so I pulled it. worse thing I ever did. that 300 was a torque monster

I still have the intake and headers, I will mock them up and shoot a pic of the crutch I made, when you remove the exhaust manifold all that carb weight is supported by the top bosses of the intake. it was a two beer project , I recommend it
