HELP! Broke down out of town!!!

Guys,

I in a major bind and need help. I drove my truck from Dallas to Houston to visit family for christmas. Well today driving to go visit a friend I stopped to get gas and maybe 2 miles down the road my radio cut out and seemed to reset it self. I looked over at the instrument cluster and noticed the ABS light on and 5 seconds later the entire truck lost power.

Everytime I tried to start the truck after this all the warning chimes would light up but not the gauges or needles. I had it towed to my friends house and noticed the parking lights are dim and flickering like they want to come one but there is no battery power. Also there is a clicking noise I noticed coming from between the bed and the cab of the truck.

I need help to fix this ASAP I'm in Houston and need to get back to Dallas for work...the timing of this couldn't be worse granted to holidays but I have a few days to spare...and if anyone is in the Houston area that could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

low or no votage??

is the alt light on??? check batt voltage without running. sounds like alt went and you finally ran out of juice in the battery... single or dual batt system and is the switch under the truck which may be the clicking noise you are hearing.

Sounds like the Altenator. Mine did the same thing last month. Had it replaced and the truck is fine now. The truck does some crazy stuff when the voltage is low.

It could also be a dead/bad battery. Before swapping or testing an alternator, have the battery tested.
If the battery is good, then check the alternator.
Definitely a power problem though.
