my hood hinges have have 1/4 inch play vertical. I tried to see if I could tighten the inner bolts but it didnt work, the play is at the pivot point on the hinge. Is this correct. also the passanger side hinge has a crack in it, I am thinking of replacing just the springs. but if there is that much play i am thinking they should be replaced. Any information would help.

Hello Jerry, my 52 hood hinges are the same, when you take them apart you will see the pivot holes are waddled out. I need a drivers side and I dont care about the play if you decide to change yours out. Thanks

 

Jerry's profile says he has a 55, so the hinges will not work on a 48-52.

 

sorry wish I could help my truck is a 1955. Does anyone know if there is a lot of play in the hood hinges. My gut tells me the play side to side means the hood hinges are bad. Also I found a crack in the passenger side hinge. Anyone have hood hinges to sell?
