I have a 2012 escape xlt with a 3.0 L engine that gets very poor gas mileage 13L\100KM. The dealer says they can't find anything wrong. Thatis 40 worse than the advertised mileage, has anyone else experienced this, and what can bedone about it?

 

Welcome to the forums. That is @ 18mpg here in the states, which is the city rating is... Only supposed to get around 20 average, with 23 mostly highway. +1 on all if it's only a FWD. It could be a result of mostly city/stop n go driving, excessive warm up times, aggressive driving. Improper tire inflation, are they still the OE tires? Extremely cold temps will also use more fuel to warm things up.

It is mostly highway driving, with the factory installed Michellin tires, and that is the average mileage after 20,000 KM.

 

What kind of fuel are you running? If you are running e85, it will get horrible mileage compared to e10.
