2007 Exp Climate Control Fan acting erractically

Hi all,

The climate control fan for the front of my expy has started acting erratically. The fan will change speeds on its own or cut out for a few minutes. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

What "climate control" system do you have?

2007 electronic climate control system. Driver and passenger zones, rear air, heated/cooled seats, digital display. Ford calls it the EATC or something similar.

Give this a shot. I bought the 9L3Z part number, and have had no issues with the A/C turning off or on. Bought it from Tousley Ford Parts Depot. Easy to replace. Remove glove box, and the resistor part is right there in view.

Per the dealer, I ordered part 9L3Z19E624B which is not the number in this TSB, but I thought I'd ask.

My wife just drove 115 mile with no front air conditioning. Gets home and the AC started blowing as normal. I ordered the part recommended and will make the repair. I took a quick look at the space behind the glove box and it looks like it will be an easy fix. Kind of a tight fit, but an easy fix none the less. Thanks to everyone that replied and I will post an update to let everyone know how it turns out!

The recommended part came in today, $68 with shipping. It looks like it has been re-engineered when compared to the old EATC controller. Dropped the glove box door, and 10 minutes later was done with the switch out. Started the truck and AC blowing as it should. I wonder how much the dealership would have charged...........

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Simple to replace. I have had my new part in for 3 months, and works beautiful.

I had the exact same problem with my 2008 Navi. I also ordered the part from Tousley Ford. I replaced the part but did not mess with the wiring alterations as described in the TSB. I still have the same problem as before only now when the fan decides to work, it is on half speed even when set to high.

My question is, does anyone have pictures of what ground wire needs the alterations or have a diagram?
