i need walked through the takedown to replace the head gasket on an 05 mountaineer with a 4.0. ive never worked on one of these so i dont even know. i havent erven seen the engine to know where to start.

 

You might want to get a book like haynes manual. You can get them at autozone, checker/o'rielly advanced auto parts. It would really help out because you can reference back to the book if your not sure.

But basiclly you have to remove intake manifold and your head all that has to come off then you have to make sure that the head isnt warped or anything like that.

 

cam - timing it the biggest concern..
