Missing 4.6

I have a question. I have a 98 expedition with 149000 miles that sat for a few months getting started once a month. When I started this time it had a miss so I drove it 80 miles to work thinking it would clear up. Had the codes read and 2 and 4 were missing. It has the 2 big coils at the front of the heads. I thought it was the pass side coil so i changed it. Started it, ran bad and changed those 2 plugs. I had the hood up in the dark, no sparks, the wires and original plugs I changed 40000 miles ago. the number 2 wire had spark. didnt check 4. I started it and it ran a little better, drove it til the light came back on. read the codes and now it showes 4, 7, and 8 are missing. Is this a common problem? If the injectors were bad would it show the code also? Thanks for the replies. I moved this thread from the expedition forums.
