Power Steering Connection Came Loose

Power steering hose just below fill area came loose and is leaking fluid fast. Anyone know the best way to get to this connection and repair it?

Most likely you'll need the new hose assy.

It's not that hard to do. Seems like there's a plastic or nylon bushing of some sort that goes in there, but it should come with the new high pressure line. Just unscrew both ends of the hose and screw the new hose back in.

You need to replace the hose. If you manage to snap it back together it will blow again. Could kill you if it happens in the wrong place. Nearly happened to us!

I really appreciate it. Will try to find a part number in am. Is it just the one hose coming out? It happened just as I pulled into the gate, that goodness. What is the best way to get to it, top or through wheel well? Thanks again!

Thanks again Chris. I found a couple of threads on the problem. Try and get the hose from NAPA in am. Maybe I can get it fixed tomorrow so we have a Christmas miracle. You have to love this forum. Makes me look good. Cold in Florida next couple days.

Mine was replaced from over top, had to remove a few things but it's not major. Hard a hard time getting it bled after repairs however. Just keep cranking the wheel until it is bled.

Do you bleed it the same way you do when you change the fluid? Mercon 5 right?

Near Lake City. Bought hose from NAPA for $25. We took the entire battery and air filter assembly out, 4 bolts and cool air return out. One of my son's was in charge over the gloves that covered air pipes. Everything went real well. We cleaned things as we went. Got new HP hose in and we changed out all the PS fluid at the end. Steering and brakes work great. We did notice a nick in the top round-about radiator hose from the belt. I plan to change it out. Does anyone know how much fluid I will lose when I replace it. CAT isn't open till next Wednesday to buy some ELC? Thanks again for all the help!
