Question Conflicking window sticker, build sheet

Wondering if anyone else has run into this or has an explanation. I ordered what I'm calling a build sheet, I've forgotten what it's actually called but I believe I paid 30.00 bucks for it from Ford Customer Service Division and gave then my vin number and they sent me this sheet. It decodes the vin # and goes on to list the optional equipment which states that my truck has fog lamps which it does not. Also it states that I have 17" wheels but in fact I have 18" wheels, A/V Jack, DVD Entertainment System which I have neither.

Then I found a link where I could put in my vin # and get the window sticker so I did that too. On the sticker as standard exterior equipment it list Locking Removable Tailgate W/Lift Assist. Well I do have a Locking Removable Tailgate but nothing that I'd call a Lift Asisst.

Under Functional equipment it list Power Windows/Locks/Mirrors, well I do have Power Windows and Locks but no power mirrors. The mirrors are heated but I don't think that is the same thing.

Love my truck but can't help but wonder why these differences, I looked as closely as I could and the fog lamps don't seem to have ever been on there and the headlight switch has no position for them and the same for the mirrors. I suppose the wheels could have been upgraded to 18" since the speedometer is a few mph's slow, something like registering 60 mph when actual speed via GPS is around 63 mph.

The power mirrors are for the extend and maybe the fold, right? I think it is built into the mirror adjust switch on the vehicles that have it.

My window sticker lists "TELESCPNG TT MIRR-POWR/HTD" but mine don't have the power extend or fold - just power heat. The extend is manual. (also no cost on that line.) I think the tailgate lift assist is a torsion spring to make it easier (not by much!) to lift the tailgate. Since I have a slide-in camper, the tailgate is currently off my truck or I would try to estimate the lift force required.

No idea on the fog lamps, however.

yep, my mirrors are listed on the window sticker the same as yours and have the same features as yours. they extend and fold but manually only...that's fine with me but just seems a bit misleading on the sticker...

thanks for the reply....Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas back at ya!

Other than the wheels, the discrepancies are fog lamps, AV jack and DVD entertainment?

Have you pulled a carfax and an OASIS report to see what service and mods might have been logged?

I'll see if I can find anything on those systems.

The power mirror part means the glass is power adjustable. Yes boys and girls, one used to have to adjust their outside mirrors by hand, just like your inside rear view. Us old timers remember.

D'oh! Of course! Thanks!

Regarding the fog lamps - check this out:

Which switch is mounted on your dash?

I have the center or middle headlight switch. no indication of fog lamps on the switch...and yes i did get the oasis report the other day and it only showed a couple of check engine light occurances where they replaced something about the injectors or something minor...I used a site where you consult a ford mechanic and he said that the truck looked solid and no major problems... I'm fine with the mirror situation except everytime I unhook from the trailer I drive off with them still extended and have to pull over and shove them in and of course the reverse is true, I hookup and pull over and extend them too... lol

I had thought about getting a build sheet - now I will save the money. Sounds like yours was full of errors.

Seems like the window sticker was right on- do I have that right?

The lift assist is the spring built in every 08 up gate, that comes standard with the truck.

The window sticker on my truck appears to be correct.
