OT: Toolbox mounting

I know this is a simple task but I don't want to drill holes in the bed rails. What is the best way to mount a toolbox? I've been thinking about using some all thread thru the toolbox down to a piece of angle that would hook on the bed rail. Does this sound like it would work or does anyone have a better solution?

Question #2 The box I have has push button latches that are supposed to lock, and one of the latches broke off. Where can I get replacement latches and lock mechanisms?

If you buy a quality box they come with heavy duty rubber pads and "J" bolts that hook under the bottom lip of the bed rail

Correct on the j bolts for mounting. As far as the locks you can get them at Tractor supply, probably Harbor Freight, and I know Camping World has them..

Like other's have said, my Tractor Supply toolbox came with the j bolts that hook to the underside of the rail. I had to drill my own holes inside the toolbox. Pretty simple installation.

Im a little picky, but I would consider putting a piece of metal flat bar between J bolt and underside of bed rail to prevent a dimple from tightening, probably aluminum would be less likely to slide around.

I used these when I had an over-the-rail crossbed toolbox. Grip Rite 200 - Tool Box No Drill Mounting Kit: Shop Better Built - Truck Tool Boxes & Accessories - Better Built® No holes in the bed rails or no damage to paint. They had them at Lowe's where I had purchased the toolbox. I sold them with the box when I switched a in-bed chest type due to fifth wheel clearance on my short bed.

Here's a link to Better Built tool boxes. They have mounting kits that install and grip under the rail of your bed. Two Allen bolts on each side then secure your box to the bed. Very secure, its what I have and am pleased.
