400 engine stuff

OK so this my first post been here a lot but not as a member. I have 1978 F250 w/400 well I am getting a new 400 installed next week with a double roller timing chain and a Cleveland cam. My question is what would you recommend doing wise before it goes in. Keep in mind this is my dd.

I'm guessing the timing will be straight up? and if you can afford a little port work, that's always good. same with an aftermarket intake.

I'm guessing you got the engine from automotive machine? I'm basing that off of the Cleveland cam description... That's what they told me too, but couldn't give me any specs or anything on the cam.

Almost any cam is better than stock.

Are they putting any compression in it? There are pistons available so you don't have to settle for 7ish compression.
