'93 F350 4X4 rear axle diff cover
I have a leak in the Differential cover, so I am going pull the cover and change lube while I am at it, but since the truck is new to me, I have no manuals, so is there a torque spec or pattern for the bolts? 10-1/4 Sterling 12 bolt cover. I have also heard tell of leaks if you use synthetic lube, any truth to the rumors?

Fishfan, Don't have a 93 manual but do have the 92 manual. The 10.25 inch ring gear assembly with a 12 bolt cover is showing 25-35 FT-Lbs on all cover bolts for the exception of the ratio tag hold down bolt. The ratio tag bolt spec is 15-25 FT LBs. Cover bolts are tightened in a cross-wise pattern. There is no cover gasket. A continious bead of silicone rubber (1/8" to 3/16" wide) is applied to the cover. Be sure to run the bead to the inside of the bolt holes in the cover. Hope this helps. Later, Charles
