What is my Front Axle

I am working on a 1977 bronco frame... I am asking for help to figure out what the front axle is.

There is a metal tag on the cover plate that reads:

ED D7TA ANA
603808 9 3.50

I assume it is a Dana axle....can any one help me with what I have
Thank you in advance

Looks like 3.50 ta me, whadda U think? Sounds bout right for a '77 w/a bent 8.

16 more posts (I think, it's been awhile 4 me) & U can send us a pic!

Welcome to the site AND esp the forum, we need more bronks on here!

May B @ some point put yer name & location on so's we can greet U proper & refer U 2 locals on the ground! in yer area!

Enjoy yer stay!
BTW: pretty simple method 4 us w/o a tag: chalk the tire or axel spin it & gount how many revs R made one to the other (yours should B 3 and a half to one). Outta gear'a course for ease of movement! eep talkin...

if it has balljoints its a dana 44 if it has nuts on top of the c's it has balljoints. if the is a plate with sum lbolts holding it on it has kingpins and i beleve that makes it a dana 30. but with it being a 77 it should be a dana 44. i thank sumwere in the early 70's is when thay went to the 44. i know my 72 came with a 44 from the factory

'71 they got rid of the D30 for the "44" but any 1 can swap 'em to anything.
The kingpin/balljoint is a good clue tho. Thanks ED!

if you get a wire brush and clean the gusetts on the bottom of the housing on the cover side you should find a number cast in there either a 44 or a 30. if it aint there it should be on top of the housing. i didnt think of it earlyer but that should tell ya to
