1959 4WD with 53-55 Cab

New Member seeking advice.

I have a 1954 F-100 and a 1959 F-100 4WD. I am interested in putting my 54 cab and front sheet metal on the 1959 to get use of the 4 wheel drive. I also have an extra front 59 4WD axle setup that I could possibly use under the 1954.

Can anyone help with the complexity and gotyas that I might encounter.

Regards,
Roland

Seems to me it'd be easier to move the 4x4 gear to the earlier frame. While I've not done anything exactly like you describe, I have dealt with several M-Hs of which one was a 53 F-250. The M-H mods on that frame were real straight forward, i.e. no cross member modifications like exist on the earlier trucks. It just seems that you'd have bigger issues trying to ensure cab and dog house positioning doing it the other way. Stu
