Hey Ben, The rear corners are good but the floors and front corners need quite a bit of work. The bed would be great if the Po hadn't laid it upside down and rusted the top rail. As far as the drivetrain I'm going with a sbc 327 that was given to me along with a 350 turbo AT (I know, I know but nobody was offering up free 302's or 351's).

You can't beat free! Don't sweat it. Where at in Tennessee? I've been doing a pretty big floor repair as well. Do you have any more pics of the fuel filler neck? It looks like yours is possibly welded solid to the cab wall, as opposed to going through the rubber grommet. Or am I seeing things again.

parts
I'm also working on an F-1 project but it's a '48. I want to replace the top bar of the grill, the one with the parking lights with one of the lower bars. Would anyone have a grill that isn't good enough to use but has at least on good bar? I bought one at a swap meet a few months ago but when I got it home, the curve of the bar was different. It was the bottom bar with a hole for the crank, but I didn't think that would be reason for a different shape.

Hey S10,
Nothing wrong with that engine - free is perfect.
We had to replace the floor as well. Shoot some pics of it so we can see what you are working with.
We tried LMC floor panels but the fit wasn't great. There is a mdmber here "reamer" who made our cab corners, sills, etc.
Looking good over there.

Had good progress today. Got the old 327 started and it sounded good so thats kind of a major hurdle knowing I have something to work with. Test fitted the Jag IFS and made a material list for the mounts. Cut off the old motor mounts and radiator support. I'm gonna post a few pics including a 62 DKW 1000s of my dads that is really neat. It looks kinda like a VW but its an early Audi and it had a 3cyl 2 stroke liquid cooled engine.
Doc the fuel filler neck was just stuck thru a grommet nothing special so I didn't take a pic of it.
Heres the test fit and the rusty floor:

Hey S10,
I like the old Fiat's though I would think parts may be hard to come by since they left the U.S. for quite a while.
Your floor does appear a bit "airy" - looks very familiar. We bought all the replacement panels but they didn't fit too well so just used some stock flat sheets & had to do some altering for the AOD transmission tunnel.
Take a good look at the under cab structure - we had to do quite a bit of work under the cab first before doing the floor.
Be careful to support the cab with some bracing before taking out that floor. There are a lot of good pics of what others have done. Our's sagged a bit - that's a PITA to get straghtened back out with hydraulic jaws.
Good luck over there. A couple of pics of our floors through the process.
