Help! What oil leak do i have?
I have oil building up on the bell housing. My dealer has tried to repair this same leak 3 times now. Each time it shows back up a week or two later. Please see attached pictures and let me know what you think. As you can see in a couple of the pics the Tech has made a mess with some sort of sealer substance. It appears to be leaking above the bell housing on left and right sides of it.
Now how do i attached pictures here?

If you are having oil leaking onto the bell housing, has your dealer considered the bed plate on top of the engine is leaking? I had the same symptom as you have and it was the bed plate. If so, it will be a cab-off repair. If you have warranty left I would have it done as mine was a 30 hour labor charge to update the gaskets under the bed plate.
There is another thread today that has similar problems as you seem to have. I believe it is titled 2008 F-350 oil leak.

SAWTOOTH:
The cab off repair for the bed plate leak was done in October 2010. The job took 30 shop hours to perform. The cab was removed, engine taken off frame and put on an engine stand to repair the bed plate oil leak. I had the thermostat upgraded at the same time as my 6.4 is a job 1 engine.
Since the repair, I have had no problems with the repair. Ford tech used all new connectors when putting the truck back together. The oil leak has disappeared. New coolant was used on the reassembly.
A Ford tech should be able to determine if the oil leak is from the bed plate area. It took my Ford tech about 5 minutes to confirm the bed plate leak.
I hope this bed plate oil leak is not your problem but one must find the leak and then deal with it.
