help and hello from new guy with 53 F350

I am the relatively new owner of a 53 f350 with a 215, 9 foot step sidebed, SRW truck with widow makers.

I'd like to bring the thing down 3.5 inches in the back as well as improve the ride. It's not as if I won't ever haul anything but it won't be utilized to it's potential and I'd rather sacrifice some load capacity to keep my kidneys from swapping places as well as level it front to back.

Here's the question. I have a pretty hefty leaf pack and I'd sure like to figure out how to get the right number and right leaves out of there to get it down as well as ride better without a lot of trial and error. Possible or am I just going to have to mess with it until I figure it out? The shorter leaves don't come into play much until the load is pretty high correct?

Also, I notice I only have front shocks, the rear appears to have never had them. Can this be right?

Brakes: Squeak like a *******. Shoes are good, drums are round, stops well. Just squeaks. Is there some way to minimize this?

THANKS!
