If you had this issue how did the repair go after removing the cab and engine to make the repairs? I may have this issue but scared to take her in. Please let me know your experiences on this. Like another poster said its like open heart surgery.

I have 87k on my 08 job 1 and had the bed plate done at 26k. It took 3 days and have had no problems since. Its not that big of a deal to take the cab off.

Where are you located in NC? I have a friend (6.0) and a brother (6.4) who have had this repair done with no problems. If "piece of mind" is what you are after, I recommend my friend who did both of those mentioned above. He works at a dealer in Ga. I know it's a drive from NC, but he is great! There are also a couple members on other Power Stroke forums that are diesel techs in NC.

Im in central NC. Man i love this truck but after watching the videos on this repair i just cant see how they get all the stuff back together correctly while not also damaging something else in the process. Does anyone know who has the best service shop in my area?

My truck is an 08 job 1 build and I have had the bedplate resealed twice, once at 42,000 miles and than again at 76,000 miles. Cab was removed and engine was takeing out on both repairs.

2008, job 1 done at 26k with no repeats (at 37k now).

Get it done before the 5yr/100k warranty is up! It's a BIG NUT if you're paying!!!

I was just told this morning mine is leaking at 79,000. I am not worried about the factory cab removal but I am worried about the 4 wires, air lines and backup camera wire that have been installed. those do not have a wiring harness plug at this time but they may soon. airlines will just have to be spliced again I guess.

I just recently did mine. It was cracked from a bad stc fitting. I was able to do mine by removing the transmission. Made it an easy job. Ordered a new bedplate from ford for $250 or so. Came with the new style rear main. The truck already had 190k on it. I did it over a weekend. Havent had problems with it in the 2 months I have used it.
