Got NaOH instead of KOH by mistake (might have been mine). AAA chemical said I could send back the unused for credit. Anyway since shipping is rather steep, I though I would try a batch with it. What do I need to know beside the 1.4 conversion factor?

Don't compost the glycerine. It will kill your plants.

And your glycerol will turn SOLID, so don't leave it too long in your processor.......

Both good to know, since it was going in my garden. I will go and drain the glycerol out processor today since I just ran it yesterday. I think I'll just bite the bullet and send the unused stuff back and get KOH. The stuff is less caustic anyway.

thanks again guys!

Hopefully the glycerol will drain.......Once the temp goes down the glycerol will get very hard.

NaOH based glycerol makes a great weed killer tho!

How long should I let the Glycerol settle out before draining? I would let it settle at least overnight when I use KOH.
