I'm putting a 360 out of a 76 f100 in my 59 f100. I'm looking to put a 5 speed in it and I need to know what transmission(s) I can use.

A Tremec TKO-500 and a QuickTime bell housing... it ain't cheap - around $3000 when all is said and done. You'll need the short 10-spline input shaft and the shifter relocation upgrade.

... yeah, I've done my homework.

A T-5Z & QT bellhousing will work too but it's only rated to 300 ft.lbs.

 

The World Class T-5 is the easiest, but isn't rated for much. But it will hold fine for cruising etc, just don't expect to race or tow anything.

The regular T-5 is garbage.
