ID my rear differential 1990 F350
Hi,
I just got this truck and know little of its history. My door post tag indicates axle 39...which I know is a 3.55 and 6,250# axle. The tag on the differential reads:
2 V122C
3 5510 2 9L 28
The differential has 12 cover bolts. So, I think this supports the notion that I have the original 3.55 differential. Is my ring gear size indicated in those numbers?
Does one refer to this differential as a "12-bolt __" Sterling"? Where the ___" is the diameter of the ring gear.
Thanks,
Roy
