Edelbrock MANUAL choke help!
Hi guys,
Recently bought and installed a new Edelbrock Thunder AVS 650 carburator for my '67 F100 352/C4. Bought the carb to replace a leaky Holley 670 Truck Avenger. The Holley came with a Performer 390 intake that i bought about 2 years ago, but my plan was always to replace with a manual choke edelbrock AVS (Loved using the manual choke on that original 2bbl). SO installed the carburator correctly, got eveything hooked up and running GREAT. Still need to work on a few things(Ford kickdown linkage screw position, etc) One issue i have no idea about is that the manual choke does not seem to be working. First of all, the carb did not even come with an owners manual.. So had to download that. Both owners manual, and that useless cd that comes with the carb, give ZERO info on the manual choke operation..
FIRST: Yes, the choke cable is properly attached to the manual choke linkage, and does operate. However when i go to use the choke on a cold start, no action! turns over forever. So I have been starting the engine via no choke.
Now this is a summer vehicle, now parked for winter. I can still tinker with it and run it in the garage so Im open to suggestions. I AM however "carburator DEclined " I know the basics but thats it haha.
Hoping someone can give me some insight! much appretiated
