Generation II Wicked Wheel

I just noticed this when looking at Bob's website. Not sure if this been posted about yet or not. Looks pretty interesting to get 43psi out of stock turbo......

It will be interesting to hear what you think of it after you get it installed.

I'd be curious what the backpressure was at 43psi with stock turbine housing.

Does the compressor wheel do anything to change backpressure?

I think 'Gen 2 WW' is a poor name. The WW is just an aftermarket name for the E99 compressor wheel, right?

Here is what Bill (PHP) posted on another forum regarding backpressure:

Compensating for a BARO offset of 14.3225 PSI, the backpressure numbers were actually around 37-38 PSI stock and 38-39 PSI with the new wheel. This means the corrected ratios were 1.226:1 for the stock wheel and 0.907:1 for the new wheel.

Bill has results. I know he's not on here, and I'd post a link to the thread but I think Mod's might get upset. Basically its as stated above. On the Dyno, only change being swapping the wheel, truck was able to make 43psi boost with the stock turbo with only like 39psi back pressure. Now the real question is going to be answered when we can find out what CFM it is flowing at that pressure. This might be an alternative to the 38R. The truck had stage 1's I believe. Bill was saying theres a chance that this wheel could make the stock turbo a viable option with almost every injector out there.

so what exactly would this extra boost mean, for example, would it get you from say 20 to 50 mph. faster than my old wheel would get me there. or ?

I have spoken to Bill about being a tester for it. We will see how it works. I'm excited.

From my understanding it is the back pressure being way higher than the boost pressure that kills them. If it really stays as low as bill measured I don't see why it would fail any sooner. The added air would mean you can.clean up bigger injectors with it and make.more power.

The long term results will be very interesting to see. Maybe making some adjustments to my Pms game plan!
