302 EGR tube and emission test question
Good question for y'all.
Maybe next year, i'll be inheriting an '89 Crown Victoria, nice clean car to.
The EGR tube that's suppose to connect to the exhaust Y pipes is gone, the EGR tunes have rotted out, and was cut off, and a big bolt was put in the holes and welded in to seal the exhaust.
My question is, would it still pass an emissions test with no EGR tube connected anymore?

EGR does not connect to the exhaust at the Y pipe that's the secondary air injection.
Does the truck still have a cat? If so and there are no EFI related issues then it is possible to pass the sniffer test without the air injection connected, this system doesn't put air into the exhaust all the time anyway, it has little function once the engine is at operating temperature.
