Good Transmission Shop in Vegas

Does anyone know of a good transmission shop here in Vegas?

I have a 97 F350, 7.3L, E4OD. I went to San Diego last week and on the way home there OD light started flashing and I need to get it checked out.

The problem is I don't know of any good shops I can trust.

If anyone knows of a good shop I sure would appreicate it.

Competition Transmission, Jimmy is the owner and a friend of mine, he just moved to Cheyenne and Simmons, don't have the actual address but his number is 873-4422. He has been in Las Vegas for along time and came highly recommended when I was asking around.

Sorry I didn't let everyone know how it went....been pretty busy.

I went to Comp Transmission to have it checked because after towing a car trailer with a car on it from Apple Valley, CA to Vegas, my trans overheated and the shifter light was flashing.

I don't remember what the code numbers were, but Jim told me it "Exceeded Max Temp" and had "Excessive Slippage".

He told me about all he could do was replace the trans, and put a bigger cooler in it.

Well, he replaced the trans and cooler and during the test drive he said it was shifting excessively hard and he didn't want to release it to me in that condition.

Long story short, he ordered another trans, replaced it and now it runs better than new.

It took about 2 weeks, because he had to reorder a second trans, but I was good with that.

I have to respect the fact that he didn't give it back to me with it shifting hard as alot of shops most likely would have done and made me fight them to fix it.

At any rate he done an EXCELLENT job for me and I would highly recommend him to anyone with trans problems.

That's great to hear. My tranny is starting to get a little tired so I will keep him in mind. Thanks for the update.
