I'll go ther other way and say that you should get the cheapest one. Saving $7,000 on the truck outweighs any other bebefits.
I treat every used vehicle as something that WILL require major repairs within the first two years of ownership. If you buy the cheaper one, you have the cash for those repairs already.
And if the truck was from an area where they use salt in the winter it has a 6 year start 7K of rust starting + the years depreciation plust the crap heads etc........

Agree with your thought process IF all three trucks were technically equal. Considering the 2003 has the 2V engine and the 4R100 transmission, I would consider one of the other two. I'd take the 3v and torqueshift.
