Agree with your thought process IF all three trucks were technically equal. Considering the 2003 has the 2V engine and the 4R100 transmission, I would consider one of the other two. I'd take the 3v and torqueshift.

i had a 05 larait loved it and miss it. the 3 valve in both number 2 and 3 are the way to go. seats in the larait are more comfie then a xlt also.

09.....late 08's and up don't have the spark plug issues.

Pretty minor issue...compared to our Diesel brethren who can't hardly get a diagnostic done for the price of a blown spark plug replacement.
