Well I found the drain. It wasn't clogged. Guess I will start by pulling the cowl and fenders and resealing the firewall. If that doesn't help I suppose pulling the dash is next... Good thing I'm on winter break for the next month...

Just under the evaporator core housing. Its a little nub sticking out from the firewall with a fairly big hole in it. Anyone have a good reference on dash removal. Im in the middle of removing it and I can't seem to find all the bolts. I have the passenger side completely loose and ready to go. Something on the drivers side is keeping it in. Im trying to take the vents and dash as one piece. I know it can be done, just cant seem to find the last bolt. Does the steering column bracket and parking brake Have to come out first?

This is the far right side of the firewall, next to the passenger side kick panel.

Vacuum actuator switches just fine though... It is fairly difficult to change the temperature setting.
No luck. I know the water is getting in here. I have just been too busy to pull the dash from the truck to do more digging. The leak doesn't seem to be as bad now, but there is still some water in that chamber and it does occasionally drip down to the carpet. Maybe this summer I will pull the dash and try and fix it, but as of now I have gone all winter without the windsheild fogging up over night. I think the cracks in the old windsheild made the problem more noticeable.

Thanks

Thank you for the input. I think it may be the windshield.

Another leak I found was with cab lights, not so much the OE, the aftermarket junk LMC ones. Then one day I washed the truck and from the bay I went into the dryer, bye bye went 2 of the clear covers . Now my ford has mopar clear cab lights . LED 3rd brake lights always seem to get moisture in them also I went through and sealed it before putting it on.

Evan, looks like you and I have the same leak. Gonna do the same thing here soon. Also getting ready to do the mass air conversion and am thinking about tearing everything apart from the firewall fwd just to go through it. I know for a fact that my seam sealer under the cowl is in horrible shape, so that's one thing that has to happen, just thinking I might go all the way since its not my DD.

It kinda sucks here in VA. In order to have a vehicle in your driveway it has to be licensed, registered, and insured. Uggg. So now that I have that done I can start what I originally purchased the truck for, a project. lol

Check and make sure then heater box drain is open. If not water backs up and comes in the cab

Thanks Brad, will check that too, but with 254+++ on the truck its got a LOT of little things (and some major) that need attention. PO was a good guy that always had things fixed, but not too much on maintenance unless he could pull it into a shop and pull it out when it was done, and some of the mechs were not all that caring if ya know what I mean.

Sorry Evan, will get out now.

Hi Evan,
My truck was leaking when I first got it. I tracked it down to a chip in the paint on the roof right where two pieces of metal had been welded together. It was only an inch or two away from the top of the windshield and near the top left side. There was a small gap in the weld that allowed water to get in and flow around the window seal on the inside before it ran onto the carpet. I never could find the leak until I was driving the truck in severe rain and enough water came through that it started to drip. I sealed it with a clear epoxy. It hasn't leaked for about two years now. However the body man is going to shoot me when it's time to paint my truck

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have just been too busy to do anything about it. I know the leak is somewhere in the heater box. It isn't the heater core either, I checked that. Cab lights can't be it either as it leaked before the truck had them. And nobody worry about jig jacking a thread, it here to any and all that need it.

Evan, I do have one question for you? How do you like your ProComp lift? I'm looking at the 6 inch with radius arms and doing the 4 inch springs on the rear. Just wondering if you were/are happy with the quality and such. Appreciate it. Jim
