Gas Problem

Ok so heres some info on my major problem. This has been going on for a long time and has progressively gotten worse till now. Now my truck is a 1995 f-150 eddie bouer edition short bed 5.0. My problem is it keeps not wanting to start and after i start it after awhile of driving it just dies. I can have my foot on the gas and it will just die no sputtering or anything. Fule pump right. NOPE. Changed that and many other things already. Still just as bad as before. This time died siting at a light. That was a fun exsperiance. Ive changed the ecm, erg vaule, the erg vaule sensor, and a few other things i cant remember right now. I also have 2 small leaks in my gas tank thanks to the old ford rust. Can that cause me to lose fule pressur and truck die and not want to restart till pressure is rebulit?

I would have replaced the tank while it was down for the pump. If its not clean inside trash could be hurting the pump or clogging the filter.

Well it wasnt leaking till after we replaced the pump. That i know if anyways. Im going ot change the fule filter today. Also the gas additive to clean the pump injectors and so forth if i add that in there it doesnt mess up but once its ran out boom back to the same problems.

are you sure it is a fuel issue? have you checked the fuel pressure right after it died and wouldn't start? My 95 acted similar to yours and it ended up being the PIP sensor in the distributor.

well, before you change the PIP(and I don't know what that stands for, lol) what do you call low fuel pressure? As far as I know, the pip being bad wouldn't cause low fuel pressure. My fuel pressure was fine when my pip was bad. And I just changed the whole distributor but it can be taken apart and just the pip changed. Just seemed like to much trouble to me.

Well from what i read online in these forms. All the problems i am having are the same. Now the fule pressure might have been because of the fule pump it was the original fule pump. lol. Even so its changed to much work to take back out. I have 2 trucks i can get a distributor from so im not to worried about it all right now. And yea it looks way to complicated to change just the pip sensor. Thanks a bunch my good sir.
