Help on new FICM!!

Just programmed ScanGauge to pick up ficm main and logic voltage and mpower has been reading 29V when i fire it up in the morning. Sometimes hits 24 so im really concerned. got to 46.5V after warmedup. It still fires up in a second, completly strong with a little grey smoke on cold mornings 35* (VA). Itseems like it idles a little rough but smooths out and idles good forever. Im poppin the hood tomorrow and physically checkin voltage but i know that scangauge is on. batterys r new scangauge reads 13.5V on them. So my question is where the most reliable place to get a new or remanufactured FICM is. not tryin to spend $500 either. Thanks for any reply

you can send yours out to ficmrepair.com and have ed go thru it and send it back or bullet proof diesel has one for about 500 that replaces the logic side of your ficm and looks really cool too. that voltage you are getting is not good and you should replace it soon or you run the chance of ruining your injectors.

That FICM is on the way to dumping you on the side of the road.
AND with the voltage that low you are going to be in it for injectors
if you keep running it.
Give Ed a call like Daddykitty said.

I would recommend the atlas 40 tune on your rebuilt ficm, it should help your mpg by 1-2. Ed at ficmrepair.com is great at beefing these things up!

With FICM main voltages as low as you describe, you are asking to be left on the side of the road at the worst possible moment. You would be well advised to deal with this sooner than later.

Your brand new $150 ScanGauge 2 just saved you 2 or 3 $250 injectors. And you get to keep the gauge!!!

Got mine repaired at a TV repair shop, $50.00, remove it, split the casing and take the part that have the two black covers.
He resolder the FET, the DALE and the condenser. Overnight job and I was ready to go the next day.
I would have send it to FICMrepair, but from Canada, custom, FEDEX and UPS are very hungry on Duty Taxes, so this was too expensive for me. USPS could be a way but it takes 2 weeks one way with priority shipping, so way too long waiting.

mine has been reading 28-29v in the cold mornings here too with real rough cold starting... my tracking number shows my FICM should be back from FICMrepair.com today, can't wait to get it put in. went with the Atlas 40 as well... i'll let ya know what i think.

USPS, but they actually delivered! (literally, ha)

the FICM is awesome. everyone says the throttle response is much improved with the Atlas tunes, drives more like a gasser. the week my truck was down i drove my wife's '04 5.4 expedition, and getting back into my truck with Ed's FICM the difference is very noticeable.. it really does have almost a gas truck response. not to mention i can't keep the 315/75's hooked up on dry pavement if i really lay into it.

there is a hill on my way to work that my truck would never downshift on until i put the bigger tires on... on the way in this morning it held the gear, and i was able to give it a little throttle and it actually accelerated, without downshifting.
