Trying to install tri gauge pod without drilling the stock pillar

Done with all sensors. Try not to drill holes for wire passage just in case I need to sell the truck some day. With the boost sensor instead of tubing, I hope that the wires will fit between stock pillar and the pod. Surely wish that the engineer left a little more space between them. Erwim

Should be doable. I installed four gauge pillar including mechanical boost gauge and didn't drill for wires. I did drill for attachment of pod though. Just gotta get the wires laying right.

IIRC, a replacement pillar is about $20 or so. I know $20 is $20 and not to spend your money but when I sold my '99 and removed my gauges, I just bought another trim piece. It was just easier to do then to fiddle with the wires and boost tube getting all kinked.

You can also get the trim plugs from FORD for the pillars with grab handles. Drill the hole to accept that and then just slip the plug in when you sell.

It took me at least one more hour and lots of elbow grease to install it w/o drilling than drilling holes on the stock. Hoewever, if I were to see Chris's comments about that A pillar only cost $20, I would definately went drilling. I thought that anything shinny and pretty from Ford is worth 200 bucks. Well, if I need to open it again someday, I definately go the easy way. Anyway, It looks so pretty when I put everything together. This is my first move toward "practical, useful or Necessary for safely driving and towing" - gauges to know how my engine and tranny are doing. I also wired and installed the EBPV brake. There are just a few more small things I need to do on the truck when I get more time. But for now, it's all ready for venturing to the national parks next summer. Don't tell me that I'm in self-denial of PMS. I'm in complete control of myself! Erwin
