Power steering gear hits shock mount

Hi guys i have been mocking up some parts before i paint my frame and i have a few questions. I am upgrading may 66 to power steering and disc brakes. I mounted the power steering gear and it hits the spring mount on the drivers side. Its not completly tight i think if i put a washer in it will be ok.

One other thing is i am mounting the poportioning valve on the front cross member were it was on the donor truck. There is one hole there i just need to drill for the other one. I was wondering if the valve has to be level like i have it in the picture. I forgot to take a picture before i took it off of the donor truck

And last here is a picture of the susspention parts i have painted so far.

Some trucks had the prop valve mounted to the top of the steering box. I personally like that better. I went back to the junkyard and got the steering box prop valve mount. Makes it easier to fab up brake lines too.

What donor did your gear come from, without going out in the dark and looking at mine (76 2wd) something just doesn't look just right.

I just mounted my proportioning valve on the cross member like my donor, reused one hole and drilled one new one that way I could reuse some of the brake lines and have an easier time using the old lines as patterns to fab new ones, not sure if it needs to be level or not but I would think in a closed hydraulic system the valve wouldn't know the difference.

It doesn't make any difference if it is level or not.

You can shim the gear box away from the frame 1/16-1/8 inch. A few smacks with a BFH will adjust the shock tower and you can grind a bit off the edge of the gear box and the shock tower for additional clearance. I'd try 1/16th shims first. Use steel verses aluminum. IMHO!
