Planning a gear swap and have a few questions.

Ok My current 95 f150 4x4 e4od 351 with 3:55 gears on 33x12.5-15 tires isn't too bad driving around with just empty truck. But as soon as I put any trailer behind it it is a DOG. I just picked up a 2500lb tent trailer and couldn't hold 100lm without down shifting. I hauled a 14' enclosed trailer with my Polaris rzr inside and managed to get 8 mpg lol and had a hard time on a couple hills.

So that leads me to wanting to do a gear swap. I'm thinking il like to go 4:56 that way it gives me the option to go to 35" tires when the time comes to replace the current ones.
I'm have read I need to get a larger carrier for the front TTB to be able to go to 4:56. Is this right? If so is there something you guys can recommend? Or is there a vehicle to keep an eye out for that will have the carrier I would need?
Also any suggestions on what gears to get?
Thanks in advance

How bad will the 4:56 be on the hwy with the 33's?

I will be pulling a 2500lb tent trailer and have my 1000lb rzr on the back of the truck. My thought is I don't think the gearing will make it any harder on gas when loaded... Or should I just keep the 3:55 and suck it up the few times a year I'll be pulling the trailer? (is it going to be worth the time and money to do the swap)It doesn't have an issue with just the rzr on the truck, will hold hwy speeds no issues. It's just when I put the trailer behind it

What trans does the truck have? If it's the E4OD don't lose a minute of sleep over it and go straight to 4.56, gas milage won't get any worse so you should at least have some power.

Yeah it's the e4od.
Right now at 110km/h I'm at about 1500 rpm in OD
You think its worth the time and money?
I definatly don't want to make the fuel mileage worse the then 10-11 I get now lol

Any suggestions on the gears/carrier?

I would also go with 4.56s. I tow a couple trail rigs with my truck on occasion and I find myself wishing my 4.10s were 4.56s.

I had the local gear shop fax me a quote.
$828 for front and rear 4:56 ring and pinion sets, front and rear overhaul kits and a case kit for the 3.92 and larger gears.
Not sure if I want to put that much into a gear swap
