Leaking diesel from the back of engine

My truck's been leaking fuel for a little while... it drips from the back of the engine, next to the oil pan... (can't see anything from below, I'm pretty sure it will have to be looked at from above.)

So, I finally had time to investigate a bit more today, and there's something that seemed weird to me -- there's some kind of open-air pool of diesel fuel right below the turbo (actually centered on the engine's center, so below but slightly to the right of the turbo, to be exact). The steel rim that surrounds the "pool" has two holes that seem to be threaded, in a way that suggests there might be some missing piece there.

I don't have my camera handy, but hopefully someone can recognize what I'm talking about...

Thanks in advance for any help!!

you said turbo, so I guess yours is a power stroke --- NOT a pre-power stroke as the forum suggests. In any case, try this link, this guy is good............POWERSTROKEHELP.COM - The Information Source for Ford Power Stroke Diesel Owners

you're leaking somewhere, either the IP, the filter head, one of the lines somewhere, or at one of the injectors. all you need to do is find your leak and fix it - and once you find it the fix is usually pretty easy

There were factory turbo IDIs.........

If the truck still runs just fine, my guess is it's related to the return lines somehow. Mine started POURING fuel out on a trip, but ran fine. It turned out to be the return line that runs from the passenger-side rearmost cap to the fitting at the back of the driver's-side.

Are you having any starting problems? A return line leak, or an IP leak will usually allow air intrusion when not running for a length of time, and air will cause starting issues.

Best bet is get it all as clean as possible and starting looking.
