My truck got bigger!!!

So i never really got around to posting it on here, but this fall I got a new set of tires and rims from my buddy, steppin up to 35s! Thought you all might like to see the new stance

On another note, the truck has a MAF 351W w/ full tuneup, timing set to 12*, new injectors, IAC, and O2 sensor, full aftermarket exhaust w shorty headers no cat, 4:10 gears and 35" tires... and I get 7mpg. speedo and odo are dead on accurate, Ive tested it on a few different "your speed is..." radars. I know my milage wont be anything near what you could call great, but I feel like I should be getting better than that... am i crazy?

I would think you should be able to break in to the double digits

If a lot of time is spent idling or off the pavement, mpg will go down significantly. Maybe its not really as bad as you think. Thats my two cents.

Good lookin' rig!

Did you set the PSOM to the larger tires? Unless someone else calibrated the PSOM to 35's, there is no way the speedo/odometer could be right on. Setting PSOM: What's a PSOM & how do I "P" it??? - FSB Forums

There is something else going on though as the tire size change is not big enough to be causing your poor mileage. It's only a 13% difference in size.

I get 10MPG with 4.11;s and 35's with a blower at 9lbs of boost. I get 8MPG if I am rodding around town.

No CEL? Have you checked codes?

How are your driving habits? Most importantly how are your take offs? Heavy take offs are the worst for mpg

Nope, this is my pavement princess. ive got my other truck for off road play, and no idling, gas is expensive lol

I calibrated the speedo myself, was getting too many speeding tickets when it was off.

No CEL, last time i checked codes it was for faulty iac, hence the new one.

As far as driving habits go, doesnt seem to matter. I can drive like an old man and maybe get 8, but thats it.

How many sensors on your truck are aftermarket replacement? I've found the some of them don't really give as good of feedback to the ECU.

I would agree that you should be breaking double digits, at least on the higway. Maybe the average MPG could be as low as 7 depending on driving habits if you do a lot of driving around town.

Maybe check the codes again just for the heck of it and also check to make sure the wheels turn freely. Maybe a bad bearing or stuck breaks or something.

My short bed F150 4x4 had a 393efi stroker, 4:10's and short 31" tires and I didn't see any mileage difference from when I had the 351 and 3:55's in it...I got around 14ish mpg. Easy on the go pedal.
