Oil overfill

I just switched over to 5 20 synthetic blend oil at 80k on a 4.6L. After filling the new filter with oil, and the motor, I had accidentally put in 6 1/4 qts all together. I didnt check the dip stick until I had driven it bout 50 miles. The oil was above the full hole on the dipstick, but less than 1/8 inch over, so I drained some out to get it right. I don't usually do my own oil changes. Does anyone think that's enough to do any damage and how would I know since the truck is running fine? Thanks for any replies.

You didn't hurt a thing with that little of an overfill. It would have been fine even if you didn't drain any back out. If I overfilled my engine by that small of an amount I would have just let it go to the next scheduled oil change and not worry about it.
